Frequently Asked Questions
"I'm overweight, over 40, out of shape, etc.…. will I be able to climb?"
Anyone in good general health can climb successfully. This is a team initiative, not a climbing competition, so our emphasis is on how the team works together to accomplish goals. The team member who climbs 5 feet is just as important to the team as the person who climbs 50 feet.
How much does a Corporate Climb cost?
Since programs are customized and may include surveys, multiple-day training sessions, or ongoing team coaching and consulting, the price will depend upon the program selected, group size and site location.
"There's no way I want to climb. Will I just be sitting on the sidelines?"
Absolutely not. Climbers and non-climbers are active participants in the team process. Non-climbers most often act as "belayers" on the ground, managing the climber's rope, and may also be designated coaches, strategists or leaders. We always emphasize "challenge by choice." There are important non-climbing roles on the team. However, many participants who are afraid of heights find that with the support and guidance of the team, they are able to climb successfully.
"Is it safe?"
We have a 100% safety record. The most common misconception about climbing is that when you fall away from the climbing surface, you fall to the ground. Every climber wears a harness attached to a rope that reaches over a structural beam and then is attached to a "belayer" on the other end. This individual keeps your rope tight enough so that when you fall away from the climbing wall, you simply hang next to the wall. When you are ready to descend, you tell your belayer, who slowly releases the rope through a special device that gently brings you to the ground.
