What is Adventure Racing? Adventure Racing is one of the
newest and fastest growing sports in the United States, although it has
been in existence around the world for over 15 years. Adventure racing
is a multi-sport activity in which teams of three to five racers
negotiate a challenging course over land and water, day and night, for
distances of up to 500 miles. It is not the fastest teams that win, but
rather the smartest teams. Only through effective communication and
collaboration do teams complete and excel in this sport. Team
interdependence and role shifting are keys to success.
The Mission
The mission is to provide
cutting edge leadership, "followership" and teamwork training based on
The 8 Essential Elements of Human Synergy, which were discovered and
forged on the mountains, rivers, jungles, and glaciers of the most
remote and inhospitable regions of the world through the sport of
Adventure Racing. Robyn Benincasa, World Champion EcoChallenge
competitor, and her World Class Team of facilitators will take your
corporate team on an adventure they'll never forget!
The Mini EcoChallenge You've seen it on National TV
- Now it's your turn (on a much smaller scale, of course)! A Mini
EcoChallenge takes the teamwork principles employed by the world's
best EcoChallenge Adventure Racers and packages them into a powerful and
exciting corporate teambuilding event that is attainable for EVERYONE.
Just
as in the internationally renowned EcoChallenge Adventure Race, teams of
4 to 10 people will travel and work together as they chart their course
through a series of Adventure Sports Events designed to create a sense
of Interdependence, Trust, and Mutual Respect among teammates. Rotating
leadership, the ability to ask for help, and the willingness to leave
one's ego at the start-line, will be keys to SUCCESS.
All
Mini EcoChallenge Adventure Races are customized for the
particular teambuilding goals of our clients, the physical ability of
the participants (trust us!), and the chosen venue. Call us for
suggested locations if your meeting planning is flexible.
Robyn Benincasa Robyn
Benincasa was born in Long Island, NY, but spent most of her youth in
Tempe, AZ, where she competed at the state and national level in
gymnastics, diving, and cross country. After graduating from Arizona
State University with a B.S. in Marketing, Robyn accepted a
pharmaceutical sales job in the San Diego Territory and earned honors as
Rookie of the Year in 1990. She was shortly thereafter caught by the
triathlon bug , and ultimately went on to complete six Ironman races,
with two podium finishes in her age group in Kona, Hawaii. By 1995,
however, she was really really tired of triathlon AND wearing panty hose
to work, so she embarked on a mission to live her dreams of becoming an
adventure racer and firefighter.
In the past 10 years, she has completed over thirteen expedition
length adventure races (7-10 days, non stop), and has earned World
Champion honors in both the Eco-Challenge (Borneo, 2000) and the Raid
Gauloises (1998). Ever in search of a way to spread the luuuuuuv,
Robyn launched her company in 2000, with the hopes of bringing her
unique and inspiring perspective on teamwork to the corporate world.
In the past 5 years, her 8 Essential Elements of Human Synergy
keynotes, training seminars, and outdoor adventure team building
challenges have been embraced by Starbucks, Tony Robbins, Boeing,
Lockheed Martin, Aramark, Honda/Acura, Timberland, Earthlink, and
Fast Company Magazine.
She also accepts full blame for inspiring some of her corporate clients
to do insane things like climb Mount Kilimanjaro, run their first
triathlon, or (gasp!) start their own adventure racing teams. Its a
tough job, she says, But someones gotta do it.

Napster Rocks with the
Mini EcoChallenge in San Diego
The feedback from the Napster team was all positive, as they
spent a day with
Robyn Benincasa and were challenged from start to finish in
our
Mini EcoChallenge. The team wanted something that would
challenge them and bring them together at a new level. By all
accounts, they succeeded. According to Napster's Sherri Cahill,
"My team had a FANTASTIC time with Robyn and her team. I cannot
"glow" about the event enough! Everyone was wonderful.
We were a bit skeptical about Robyn's "keynote" that morning as
none of us could fathom why we needed an hour of her talking
about her past. But let me tell you, that was one of the
highlights! It was a very valuable message for everyone. My
executives continued to talk about our day with Robyn all
week!!! They even talked about making this an annual event!! So,
again, thank you VERY much for everything." Click on the pictures to enlarge and enjoy!
Siemens Medical Solutions - A Testimonial
"AWESOME!!!!! No other way to describe you or the presentation
that you gave at our Summit meeting last week. I spent the week
listening to a number of people talking about the session, your
achievements and how they tied in so well to some of the issues
that we are trying to implement on the one hand and overcome on
the other. The 8 Human Synergies tied perfectly into the
messaging that we had done earlier in the day, and we tied a
number of your key messages into the next two team building
events we did in the afternoon. You were inspiring for me
personally and certainly for my team. No doubt you and adventure
racing have approximately 140 new fans." Anthonie Goudemond, VP
