Since 1985, the International Team Excellence Awards has been one of the premier team competitions. Honors are presented to the work teams that most clearly and effectively demonstrate the principles and techniques of improving quality through participation. Teams compete in preliminary competitions, from which winning teams advance to the national competition at the Annual Spring Conference. Highly motivational and instructive!
Winning Teams Awarded Gold, Silver, and
Bronze at ASQ World Conference
Milwaukee,
Wisconsin, May 4, 2006 - 3 teams took top honors in a tough
competition at the ASQ World Conference on Quality and
Improvement. 27 teams from around the world participated in the
event this year. The Gold winner was the Hazira Manufacturing
Division of Reliance Industries Limited India. This team's
project significantly reduced the production cost of polyester
fiberfill by controlling high cost items without affecting
product properties or process operations. The Silver winner was
a team from the Boeing C17 Program in Long Beach, CA, and the
Bronze winner was from Siemens VDO in Guadalajara, Mexico.

This competition presents the state's best examples of the effective use of work teams. The statewide team competition starts at the local level. Six different regions within the state stage local team competitions. Based upon the criteria established by Florida Sterling, a regional winner is chosen. The regional winner competes at the statewide Team Showcase competition held each year in Orlando as part of the Florida Sterling Quality Conference. A statewide winning team is chosen, and that team goes on to represent the state of Florida in the national team showcase.
